Winter 2015 Interview – Peat Bakke (C. Sinensis Rare Tea Buying Club)

Peat Bakke - Winter 2015 Interview

Q1. What is your Name?

Peat Bakke

Q2. What is the name of your blog or organisation?

C. Sinensis Rare Tea Buying Club

Q3. Where are you located in the world?

Portland, Oregon, USA

Q4. Do you have a favourite Valentine’s Day drink?

As much as I’d like to say some kind of tea, Valentine’s Day is all about the wine! Big red wines, the vegetal, earthy, dirty, definitely-not-a-fruit-bomb wines. The kind of wine that surprises people who aren’t into wine … yet.

Q5. What is your favourite drink during the Winter?

Tea! Particularly ripe puerh and roasted oolongs. Winter is the season for darker teas with deeper flavors — puerh when I’m looking for rich and savory, oolongs when I’m in the mood for something a little more fresh and floral.

Q6. What is the perfect Winter weekend setting to enjoy the drink?

Getting tea drunk with my best friend and partner in our tea buying club. It doesn’t matter where, or when, or how — hell, it doesn’t really matter if it’s particularly good tea — we just have a great time when we drink together. Unfortunately we live on opposite sides of the world, so it’s a rare occasion …

Q7. What is usually your last drink of the day?

One of the samples from our tea club. It’s a great way to unwind, refocus after a day at work, and try something new.

Q8. Where can people find out more about you?
