This summer, Obubu’s Yanagi Bancha seems to be the drink of choice. Sweet, refreshing, and light on the tongue.
Q5. What is the perfect Summer’s day setting to enjoy the drink?
Sun through my window, hearing the waves rock the shoreline, and having a fresh breeze to cool off has been how I’ve spent most nights. Allows me to concentrate on the tea!
Q6. Is there a right or wrong way to prepare the drink? i.e. Never drink without ice?
Prepare the tea how you enjoy it. But never be afraid to experiment.
Q7. Is the presentation of the drink important? i.e. ceremony, type of glass, setting.
Tea culture has evolved throughout the centuries and it will continue to evolve. Present according to the situation, but always be humble.
Q8. Is there a Summer’s day drink that you feel is underrated? If so, why?
On a hot day? I’d say try a sencha infused Martini; people underestimate teas versatility in the culinary world!
