Monique Low

Toasted Glass

Q3. Where are you located in the world?

TOWIE (Chelmford, off of Essex)

Q4. What is your favourite Summer drink and why?

I am ridiculously fickle, but I am currently enjoying the Deuce Cocktail, created for Wimbledon 2013. It’s got Tawny Port, triple sec and prosecco. It’s bubbly, ridiculously quaffable and is always guaranteed to get the party started!

Q5. What is the perfect Summer’s day setting to enjoy the drink?

This is definitely a bit a special occasion drink – ideally, a garden party, a summer wedding…

Q6. Is there a right or wrong way to prepare the drink? i.e. Never drink without ice?

The right way would be to chill the port and the triple sec by stirring them over ice before straining into a chilled champagne flute with a fresh strawberry in the bottom – then top up slowly with ice cold prosecco, to avoid it bubbling over and gently stir to mix.

Q7. Is the presentation of the drink important? i.e. ceremony, type of glass, setting.

Always! Even if you are just drinking at home with friends or a loved one, it is imperative to follow the correct protocol – a champagne flute is a must, as is the ice for mixing – even the strawberry should not be ignored (essential vitamins )

Q8. Is there a Summer’s day drink that you feel is underrated? If so, why?

People often regard Prosecco as the poor mans’ champagne, but I actually prefer it – it’s light and fruity, often with lemon and peachy overtones and doesn’t leave your mouth feeling furry after a couple of glasses!

Q9. Where can people find out more about you? i.e. shop address, Twitter username, website url
