Q1. What is your Name?
Q2. Do you represent a business? If yes, what is the name and your role.
M&K’s Tea Company
Q3. Where are you located in the world?
Grover Beach, California, USA
Q4. What is your favourite Summer drink and why?
A tough call, but I’d have to give it to an iced peach tea, especially with lemonade (sort of like an Arnold Palmer). Here in California, peaches and lemonade have always reminded me of summer, and you can’t go wrong with a little black tea or green tea in the mix.
Q5. What is the perfect Summer’s day setting to enjoy the drink?
I’m going to avoid saying the beach for once. I’d say the perfect place would be by a California creek, somewhere in the chaparral. Steady waters, little rocks, and nature (and your summer drink of course).
Q6. Is there a right or wrong way to prepare the drink? i.e. Never drink without ice?
At my little company we have our own California Sweet Peach infusion (not a tea, but a tisane). For the best results (for any iced tea), make sure you sweeten to your liking (I usually do 1 tbsp of white sugar per cup of water because I have no shame and my arteries are forgiving), make sure you serve over ice, but be sure to brew enough tea to counteract the ice (I usually brew the tea a little on the strong side ((i.e. double serving)) in order to get a nice brew).
Q7. Is the presentation of the drink important? i.e. ceremony, type of glass, setting.
Peach tea is flexible. Peach tea is forgiving. Any type of glass will do! A straw doesn’t hurt though, if you’re into that.
Q8. Is there a Summer’s day drink that you feel is underrated? If so, why?
Iced oolong tea! Everyone’s always raving about green tea and black tea and even white tea, but oolong is still on the lower end of things in terms of popularity (although it is fairing better than dark or yellow tea). Iced oolong is extremely tasty, and (although more studies need to be completed to further confirm results) it is said to pretty healthy for your body in terms of weight-loss.
Q9. Where can people find out more about you? i.e. shop address, Twitter username, website url
