Summer 2014 Interview – Jenny Permanasari (Lovecha)

Q1. What is your Name?

Jenny Permanasari

Q2. Do you represent a business? If yes, what is the name and your role.

Yes. Lovecha. Founder/Product Developer.

Q3. Where are you located in the world?

San Francisco Bay Area

Q4. What is your favourite Summer drink and why?

Iced Oolong Tea with a little matcha cream on top. Oolong Tea stays in the middle between black and green tea, so the aroma and taste is very refreshing and awakening during the hot summer. The matcha cream stay on top works as a little indulgence of creamery.

Q5. What is the perfect Summer’s day setting to enjoy the drink?

It would be an outdoor picnic in the park with friends or family.

Q6. Is there a right or wrong way to prepare the drink? i.e. Never drink without ice?

When it comes to preparing tea drink, the right and wrong should be understood from the beginning. The temperature used to brew between black, oolong, green, and white tea is the key. It ranges from 149 – 212 degree fahrenheit. The lighter the tea the lower the temperature of the water should be used. Also the quality of water. If tap water is used to make tea drink, water must be filtered.

Q7. Is the presentation of the drink important? i.e. ceremony, type of glass, setting.

Definitely! The better and more appealing presentation will definitely result in a total great experience of drinking. It can start as minimal as using the nice cup, glass or bottle itself.

Q8. Is there a Summer’s day drink that you feel is underrated? If so, why?

I think fresh brewed tea drink made out of loose-leaf tea is underrated. It still does not show up on the mainstream yet. Perhaps, due to the inconvenient people think of it.

Q9. Where can people find out more about you? i.e. shop address, Twitter username, website url
