Q4. What is your favourite Autumn drink and why?

It’s tricky to pick a favorite. Plus, I’m a big fan of pu-erh tea. But I’ll say it’s our Anxi High-roasted Oolong. So many oolongs are very floral and others are fruity – naturally with nothing added. But tea processors are finding a big market for their more highly roasted oolongs, since the flavor is pleasing to coffee drinkers and they store better. I like it because this time of year the roasty quality is very appealing and even soothing.

Q5. What is the perfect Autumn day setting to enjoy the drink?

Sitting out on my deck looking out over treetops at a clear blue sky. Sure, I’m freezing out here, but it’s worth it for a few minutes! Tea and nature just go together.

Q6. What contributes to receiving a high quality drink?

The experience of the tea master is crucial, but so is a good team of experienced leaf pickers. And a good growing season. They all play together to create the perfect infusion possibility. Of course, you, the tea drinker, need to know how to bring those flavors out at their best. We try to help with info on our blog and store site.

Q7. What drink do you start your day with and why?

A bit of sheng pu-erh starts my day. It’s a great thirst quencher and zero calories!

Q8. Do you order a different drink whilst travelling?

I usually take some of my favorites with me. But if I do get caught out somewhere ‘unsupplied,’ I will try to pick a straight black tea or even a breakfast blend. No Earl Grey or flavored teas for me.
