Q1. What is your Name?
Marika de Vienne
Q2. What is the name of your blog or organisation?
Epices de Cru
Q3. Where are you located in the world?
Q4. What is your favourite Autumn drink and why?
I could be accused of pushing Oolong in any season, but Autumn always seems the best for a nice black oolong. I especially like dark mineral flavors like Da Hong Pao or Wuyi Shan. More heavily fermented oolongs offer a sharper flavor and that’s what I need when the weather starts to cool.
Q5. What is the perfect Autumn day setting to enjoy the drink?
Ha ha, well there’s such variety to Montreal weather in Autumn that it’s hard to say. Early fall still calls for nice green teas. But it’s near the end of the season when winter starts to set in that a nice cuppa can save the day. So I’d say the first snow or bitter cold day calls for pulling out my old favorites.
Q6. What contributes to receiving a high quality drink?
The word that comes to mind for me is care. If I feel the other person is genuinely interested in offering a nice drink, not just serving a customer or making a quick buck, then I find I enjoy whatever I’m served.
Q7. What drink do you start your day with and why?
It’s always tea. Even though I own a tea company and can choose whatever I want, I tend to go with more familiar classics for the morning, like Earl Grey or Darjeeling.
Q8. Do you order a different drink whilst travelling?
I try to sample whatever’s popular in the place that I’m traveling, but I do pack some reliable teas just in case the local specialty sucks.
Q9. Where can people find out more about you?
