Autumn 2014 Interview – Carly Carter (The Cheongsam Fashion Mysteries)

Death By Chopsticks

Q1. What is your Name?

Carly Carter

Q2. What is the name of your blog or organisation?

The Cheongsam Fashion Mysteries

Q3. Where are you located in the world?

Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Q4. What is your favourite Autumn drink and why?

There’s something so magical and profoundly comforting about that first cup of tea at the first sign of chill. Wouldn’t you agree? For several years our family’s go to fall winter beverage has been Chai. I make a chai concentrate that allows us to have a strong cup of chai made with spices of our choice. It’s a much more intense beverage than what you get from a tea bag or powdered mix.

Reheat with a little almond milk, stir in honey, inhale the warming spices, and the stress of the day evaporates.

Q5. What is the perfect Autumn day setting to enjoy the drink?

I love when the weather is just cool enough to require sweaters and fingerless mittens. (Self-confessed obsessed knitter) A mug of chai on the back porch, in my favorite hand knits is bliss.

Q6. What contributes to receiving a high quality drink?

The intensity of the warming spices really take this drink to the next level. It is a bit of effort (but only once a week. Then you’re set). But effort equals results.

Q7. What drink do you start your day with and why?

Since I put a shout out for tea ideas with Drink Militia it’s been all Irish Breakfast. Still love Early Grey, but the strength of Irish Breakfast -and Scottish Breakfast (the new kid on the breakfast block) is perfect.

Q8. Do you order a different drink whilst travelling?

I NEVER order chai out. It’s always a watery disappointment.

Q9. Where can people find out more about you?
